Another project that the engineers in the office have been working on required help so leaving the WFI Stills for the moment.
I’ve been aiding the engineers in the documentation and cross checking parameters for them in Delta V before factory acceptance testing begins. The project is based around XDR and Wave bioreactors. The aspect I’ve been involved in so far has been cross-checking the parameter values within the phases.
To understand what that means I will briefly explain some concepts.In Delta V the components can be broken down into 2 models, they are the physical and procedural model.
The physical comprises of (as depicted below);
- Sensor(s) (or other control modules) that perform a specific task
- A control model (CM)
- A single or multiple control modules make up an equipment module (EM)
- A single or multiple equipment modules makes up a unit
- Lastly as a single or multiple units make up a process cell.
The procedural control is the structure upon which the automation and control of the physical model is built. This is comprised of phases which make up operations, multiple operations make up unit procedures and they in turn make up the recipe. This is comparable to a baking recipe wherein steps can be broken down and categorized as seen in the below illustrations.
